An Aviation Addiction

Have you ever used Google Flights? Or tried to book a flight on an airline’s site?

You put in the date and the destination and things, and then search. Up comes a list of flights and times and all that good stuff.

What’s your main concern? The price? Maybe the arrival times or directness of the flight? That sounds normal.

I choose almost entirely based on the type of plane I will be flying on. I am an aviation nerd. I like planes and want to fly on the ones I think are cool. Well, the planes that the aviation community as a whole deems as cool.

I’ve planned trips based on where I can take certain planes. I’ve intentionally taken layovers when direct flights were available. All in the name of getting to ride on fun, modern, rare, and/or powerful planes.

I’m not saying you should do this. In fact, I might discourage that behavior here in order to preserve seats for myself.

Quirky traits like this are good for the soul. And they’re nice conversation starters.
